"Everything came to a breaking point over the past few years with so many clean trains and spots being done the local authorities started cracking down. It goes in cycles but traditionally our city has had a zero-tolerance for graffiti. Domestically overall the States get’s it in! Over the past year certain cities and writers have really shined.  We have a great freight scene, which most other countries do not have. Internationally I think Brighton England and Australia have healthy scenes. Sorry about the bland answers. "

Mike Giant Interview

After years of studying architecture, Mike changed course and started doing graphics for Think Skateboards, moving from New Mexico to San Francisco. In 2003 after a spell in France, he opened the legendary tattoo shop “Stay Gold�? where he worked until recently. "As a hobbie, I still take pictures and film, I like to look at art, go to art shows, photo exhibitions, ride my motorcycle, lowride, hangout with the family, bbq and hangout with the kids. I also used to skateboard when I was younger at the Del Mar Skate Park, play volleyball, chess, surf, whatever. That’s pretty much it besides working."

Labeled as a “sellout�? or no longer a “real writer�? by some of his contemporaries, COPE2 knows he paid his dues in the graf game. He knows that you recognize his name. He knows that he spent all that time practically branding himself.
