The more I am transcending different genres of art, the more I have to be able to rely on the tools I´m using. In the course of my ongoing career as an artist I found out that MOLOTOW™ products are not only as superior in quality as promoted but also offer a multitude of application-possibilities which one wouldn´t think of in the first place. In this specific tutorial I want to show you by a single example what can be done when you keep your mind open and your creativity flowing.
But first things first – for this work I used MOLOTOW™ PREMIUM special paint, TRANSFORMER™- and Dripstick™-markers and ONE4ALL™-, TRANSFORMER™-, Dripstick™- and Masterpiece™-refills.
An unexpected lineup you might think, but perfectly fitting for what I was heading for. Maybe I should explain that these products are mixable to some degree – especially MOLOTOW™ PREMIUM can be mixed with many other inks and acryl-colors (not from other spray-cans though). To find out what goes with what takes time and the resulting experience data – therefore I always recommend to make some test runs when mixing different paints and inks to avoid unwanted results. I assure you that the endeavour will pay off sooner or later since it´s likely that you´ll learn tricks no one else will have in his sleeve!
Before I get started I always make sure that the surface is clean before applying the base coat. I also add spray paint only in thin layers to avoid unwanted drips and to make sure that the canvas is rollable when I´m done. Keep in mind that different paints need different amounts of time to dry! So much for the basics... .
Let´s go to the canvas:
As you can see I´m using MOLOTOW™ PREMIUM special paint to sketch my scene as well as to add the dominating colors I want in my final picture – a very fast way to work, which suits my methods perfectly (fig.1)! Don´t forget to shake the can before you use it.
In fig.2 I apply by hand TRANSFORMER™-ink to create a shadow. The still wet PREMIUM paint and the ink blend just perfectly – a very natural way to work with these products to me!
This detail needs an alternating pattern, the Dripstick™-marker with its fat drips provides for that... .(fig.3)
Let´s spice it up a bit. With a mix of Speedflow™- and red TRANSFORMER™-ink I create my own custom „deep red“ which gives the picture an almost 3-dimensional depth. (fig.4+5)
Do you see what a little bit of MOLOTOW™ PREMIUM can do? Such a great, yet easy to achieve effect! (fig.6)
Did you know that the ONE4ALL™- 30ml refill bottle can be used as a mini-dripstick? Here I´m going freestyle with it. I love how great the ONE4ALL™ paint covers - just look at these yellow and white lines! (fig.7+8)
A few more contrasting lines to outline the details and I´m done! (fig.9+10). All done in a heartbeat with the Dripstick™ charged with Speedflow™-ink.
Well, that´s it for now. Hopefully I was able to give you an idea of what my craft is about, to inspire you to get creative by yourself and to show you what MOLOTOW™ products can enable you to do!
