Graffiti New York
vom 20.07.2009
Former graffiti artist Eric “DEAL CIA Felisbret has spent over 30 years documenting New York City graffiti. Luke “SPAR ONE Felisbret is a graffiti artist and historian whose work has been widely exhibited. Together they launched www.at149st.com, a documentation of New York City graffiti’s culture and history. James Prigoff is coauthor of the classic Spraycan Art. He lives in Sacramento, California.
"Decades after the movement globalized, New York is still the mecca of graffiti culture. Painting there is a badge of honor, with graffiti artists from around the globe making pilgrimages to New York for that purpose. This is the city where it all began, yet few know the back story. Graffiti New York fills that gap, detailing the concepts, aesthetics, ideals, and social structures that have served as a cultural blueprint for graffiti movements across the world. The book features approximately 1,000 images, complemented by texts by the authors and relevant players in the movement, as well as descriptive graphics and sidebars. Ranging from the birth of simple signature tags to today’s vibrant murals, and covering the ups and downs of the movement, the culture’s value system, its social framework, the various forms of graffiti, and significant artists and crews, Graffiti New York is a major addition to Abrams' superb books on graffiti art."

The Character Studies Exhibition New York
vom 25.04.2009
"McCaig-Welles Gallery in Brooklyn, New York City presents “The Character Studies, a group exhibition opening May 8th, 2009 co-curated by Andrea von Bujdoss (Queen Andrea). The exhibition runs through June 1st, 2009. This diverse and vibrant exhibition showcases the new works of 5 prolific illustrators and urban artists within the context of intensive letter, cartoon and portraiture explorations. The bodies of work on display by the exhibiting artists Ewok 5MH, Cycle, Siloette, Queen Andrea and gmo$ represent their strong personal aesthetics derived from significant experience in the realms of graffiti, street art, skateboard culture, cartooning and illustration. Their works will be complimented by custom art installations on the gallery walls, painted by the artists. Both letter and caricature art have strong roots in graffiti culture, illustration and traditional graphic design. The attempt to master a personal artistic “style is a coveted status. The exhibition promises to be an exciting juxtaposition of styles in celebration of this boisterous yet subversive artform, presenting a notable collection of elaborate portraiture, witty cartooning, collage, stencil art, signpainter lettering, graffiti and illustration works. Limited edition signed art prints will be available for sale. “The Character Studies is sponsored by Molotow/Belton, the leading brand in superior
quality spray paint"

Molotow´s Friends keep posting their opinion on our products, as Towns from London did or Ewok from New York City a few days ago on his blog
"So I got a nice package today direct from MOLOTOW in Germany. I gotta say these guys are pretty damn on point with their acrylic based products, it's not just their spray paint that's the shit.....just the way these are made is really nice to work with. They don't bleed all over when you press down, and when they dry, they don't smear or scratch off. Particularly for my canvases I can work with this stuff seamlessly. If that's not a satisfied product field test, I don't know what is. I sell paintings anywhere from $1k up to $30k so I'm quite picky about what products touch my work. Stay tuned for some close up shots of and direct results of their capabilities, at least from in my studio."
As soon Ewok have sent us his latest artworks done with Molotow ONE4ALLâ„¢ we will go to post it here. We are happy about such feedbacks, look forward! Bytheway Ewok made it to Puerto Rico with Cope2 and Toomer, check his latest productions here
